Asosa University is a public university in Ethiopia committed to academic excellence and research. The university is seeking to recruit qualified and dedicated academic staff for permanent positions as lecturers and lab assistants. There are a total of 35 vacancies across various colleges and departments.

• College of Social Science and Humanities:
  • Lecturers/Assistant Professors in Benishanguligna and Shinashigna (Borna Language)

• College of Natural and Computational Sciences:
  • Lecturers in Geology, including specializations in Structural Geology, Geochemistry, Engineering Geology, Geophysics, and Mining Geology.
• College of Health Science:
  • Lecturers and Lab/Assistant positions in Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy, and Medical Laboratory Science, with specializations including Environmental Health, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Medical Anatomy, Clinical Pharmacy, Medical Microbiology, and more.
• College of Agriculture and Natural Resource:
  • Assistant Professor in Environmental Science and Agricultural Economics.
  • Laboratory Technical Assistant in Veterinary Science.
• College of Engineering:
  • Laboratory Technical Assistants in Civil Engineering and Surveying Engineering.

General Requirements and Qualifications

All candidates must hold a degree from a recognized university.

• CGPA:
  • For MSc/MA/MBA degrees, a CGPA of 3.50 or higher is required for male applicants, 3.35 or higher for female applicants, and 3.15 or higher for disabled applicants.
  • For BSc/BA degrees, a CGPA of 3.00 or higher is required for male applicants, 2.75 or higher for female applicants, and 2.50 or higher for disabled applicants.
  • For Graduate Assistant positions, the CGPA requirement is 3.25 for male applicants, 3.00 for female applicants, and 2.75 for disabled or emerging region applicants.
  • Medical Doctors and Doctors of Veterinary Medicine require a CGPA of 3.00 or higher.
• Academic:
  • Thesis results must be “Very Good” (B+) or above.
  • Candidates with more than one year of relevant industry experience will receive an additional 5 points during evaluation.
• Health Science:
  • BSc candidates in Health Science must have a professional license exam certificate.
  • Candidates who graduated from 2010 E.C. (2017/18) onwards must provide evidence of passing the professional competency assessment test.
