Role Overview

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a Humanitarian Access and Safety (HAS) Coordinator to serve as a key technical resource on safety, security, crisis management, and humanitarian access in Ethiopia. This crucial role in Addis Ababa is responsible for actively managing safety and security risks, contributing to the development of principled humanitarian programming, and ensuring the effective implementation of Duty of Care standards. The Coordinator reports to and receives technical oversight from the HAS Manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Professional and Educational Criteria

Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:

πŸ‘‰ Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience working specifically with security management, preferably within a humanitarian or recovery context.

πŸ‘‰ Context Experience: Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts.

πŸ‘‰ Education: A first-level university degree, preferably in security management, law enforcement, or another related social science field.

πŸ‘‰ Technical Expertise: Demonstrated technical expertise in security management is required. πŸ‘‰ Language: Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

πŸ‘‰ Local Knowledge: Good knowledge of the area and context in Ethiopia and all regions.

Key Skills

πŸ‘‰ Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

πŸ‘‰ Proven experience in organizational representation, coordination, and liaison.
