Ethio-Istanbul General Hospital in Addis Ababa is recruiting skilled and licensed professionals for critical roles in its clinical and technical departments. The hospital is currently accepting applications for Operating Room Nurses, Intensive Care Unit Nurses, and an Assistant Biomedical Engineer.
Available Positions and Requirements
1. OR (Operating Room) Nurse
Number of Positions: 10
Responsibilities
➠ Prepare operating rooms, including necessary equipment and sterile supplies, ensuring readiness for surgical procedures.
➠ Directly assist surgeons and surgical teams during operations, maintaining a sterile field and anticipating needs.
➠ Monitor the patient’s condition throughout the procedure and support immediate post-operative care within the unit.
➠ Maintain accurate and complete surgical and procedural records.
Qualifications
➠ Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
➠ Must possess a valid Ethiopian professional license.
➠ 1 to 3 years of experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting is preferred.
2. ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse
Number of Positions: 10
Responsibilities ➠ Provide specialized, high-acuity critical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
➠ Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and physiological status, quickly recognizing and responding to changes.
➠ Administer complex medications and manage life-support equipment, including ventilators and IV drips.
➠ Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and execute comprehensive care plans.
Qualifications ➠ Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
➠ Must possess a valid Ethiopian professional license.
➠ 1 to 3 years of experience working in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting is preferred.
3. Assistant Biomedical Engineer
Number of Positions: 8
Responsibilities
➠ Provide essential technical support for a wide range of medical equipment and hospital systems.
➠ Perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, and necessary repairs on critical medical devices to ensure optimal performance.
➠ Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all maintenance, repair activities, and safety checks. ➠ Ensure all medical equipment complies with relevant safety and quality standards.
➠ Assist with medical equipment inventory management and participate in training clinical staff on equipment usage.
Qualifications
➠ Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
➠ 0 to 2 years of experience; new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.
