Role Overview
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) is seeking an experienced and strategic Director for Business Development & Resource Mobilization. This senior-level leadership role is critical for driving the organization’s financial sustainability and growth by securing new funding streams and expanding resource mobilization efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to support the vital humanitarian work of the ERCS.

Responsibilities
The Director will be expected to provide strategic direction and operational oversight in the following areas:
π Develop and implement a robust Business Development and Resource Mobilization strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and long-term vision.
π Lead the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective institutional, corporate, foundation, and government donors.
π Oversee the preparation and submission of high-quality, competitive proposals and grant applications.
π Establish and maintain strong, productive relationships with key partners and funding stakeholders.
π Monitor and analyze fundraising performance, preparing regular reports for senior management and the governing board.
π Manage and mentor the resource mobilization team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on sustainable financial growth.
π Ensure all resource mobilization activities comply with donor requirements, internal policies, and legal standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Second or First degree in a relevant field such as Business Management, Management, Business Administration, Business Development, Marketing, Economics, or Project Management.
Experience:
- 10 years’ relevant work experience with a Second degree, or 12 years’ relevant work experience with a First degree.
- A minimum of 5 years (with Second degree) or 7 years (with First degree) must have been spent in a managerial or leadership position.
