IT Assistant – Fresh Graduate
SVO NGO is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated IT Assistant to join our team in Addis Ababa. This position is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to launch a professional career within a non-governmental organization committed to social good and the empowerment of vulnerable groups. The IT Assistant will support the organization’s technology infrastructure and digital communication efforts.
Primary Responsibilities
➠ Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues for all staff.
➠ Assist in managing and maintaining the organization’s information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure.
➠ Support the administration and content updates for digital communication tools, including the website and social media platforms.
➠ Ensure adherence to organizational policies regarding data security, integrity, and confidentiality.
➠ Assist in the documentation of IT procedures, system configurations, and user guides.
➠ Prepare to work flexible hours and undertake occasional travel to project and field offices as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
Education
➠ Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, ICT, or a closely related field.
Experience
➠ Fresh Graduate from the Class of 2024 (2016 E.C) or 2025 (2017 E.C).
Specific Requirements
➠ Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.40 or above (a non-negotiable requirement).
➠ Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
➠ Familiarity with current digital communication tools (e.g., social media management, email marketing platforms, website administration).
➠ Demonstrated commitment to integrity, confidentiality, teamwork, and continuous learning.
➠ Proven ability to function effectively and maintain performance when working under pressure.
Desirable Attributes
➠ Knowledge of two or more Ethiopian languages.
➠ A clear passion for utilizing technology for social good, innovation, and the empowerment of vulnerable groups.
Location and Compensation
Place of Work: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with occasional required travel to project sites.
Salary: Negotiable, based on experience and organizational scale.
