Organization For Welfare and Development in Action (OWDA) – Multi-Woreda Health Project Vacancies

The Organization For Welfare and Development in Action (OWDA) is seeking highly experienced and qualified public health and management professionals to fill three critical roles across a project covering multiple woredas in the Somali region: Aw-Bare, Gursum (SM), Afdem, Shinile, Biyaawale, Wahil, and Legehare.


1. Project Coordinator

Role Overview: The Project Coordinator provides strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of the multi-woreda public health programs, ensuring the successful execution, quality, and compliance of project activities across the regional landscape.

Requirements and Qualifications:

👉 Educational Background: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Systems Management, Nursing, or a related field.

👉 Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in public-health program management.

👉 Specific Experience: At least 3 years in a coordination or supervisory role overseeing multi-woreda or regional health projects.


2. Woreda MNCH Officer (Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health)

Role Overview: The MNCH Officer provides technical expertise and implementation support for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health, nutrition, and immunization services, primarily within health facility settings at the woreda level.

Requirements and Qualifications:

👉 Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Midwifery, Public Health, or a related clinical field.

👉 Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH), nutrition, and immunization services within health facility settings.


3. Woreda Facilitation Officer

Role Overview: The Facilitation Officer is responsible for mobilizing, supporting, and strengthening community-level health activities, focusing heavily on the Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) and the implementation of the Health Extension Program (HEP).

Requirements and Qualifications:

👉 Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Health, Health Education, Nursing, or a related field.

👉 Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working at the community level.

👉 Specific Experience: Must include experience with PHEM and the Health Extension Program (HEP).
