Qualifications & Experience
➠ Required Education: Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Communications, Media, Journalism, Marketing, International Relations, or a closely related field.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Content Planning
➠ Lead the development, delivery, and continuous refinement of the Annual Content Plan in close partnership with the Digital Engagement Specialist, Communications Director, and other key internal stakeholders.
➠ Ensure communications objectives are strongly aligned with sponsor/donor needs, organizational strategy, sector trends, and advocacy goals.
➠ Facilitate regular workshops and planning sessions with programmatic, field, and technical leads to collaboratively set content priorities. ➠ Integrate feedback and insights gathered from StoryHub usage metrics and internal stakeholder consultations to adapt strategy.
Team Leadership and Culture
➠ Provide direct supervision to the Media and Corporate Storytelling Manager and functional, matrix management to Field Storytelling Coordinators.
➠ Champion a culture where creative experimentation, calculated risk-taking, and learning from failure are a regular part of team life.
➠ Set clear expectations for innovation, constructive feedback, safeguarding vigilance, and continuous professional growth.
➠ Identify talent gaps and organize targeted skill-building sessions, mentorship, and professional development.
➠ Provide functional leadership to Field Storytelling Coordinators, setting priorities for collecting regionally diverse, child-focused narratives, case studies, and multimedia content.
Content Quality, StoryHub Management, and Safeguarding
➠ Manage the StoryHub workflow, including assignments, content archiving, and categorization, ensuring all assets are easily retrievable.
➠ Personally review all flagship assignments and high-risk content for quality, clarity, safeguarding compliance, and potential reputational risk.
➠ Draft all communications output that involves complex safeguarding or reputational risks, including sensitive field stories and emergency communications.
➠ Work closely with the Director of Communications and Incident Management Teams (IMTs) during reputational crises.
➠ Regularly audit StoryHub collections to ensure assets are not only compliant but also reusable and tied to priority themes.
Thought Leadership, Positioning, and Partnerships
➠ Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and technical leads to identify themes, moments, and products for organizational thought leadership
. ➠ Guide the creation, review, and sign-off of strategic reports, white papers, advocacy statements, and sector-facing content.
➠ Identify opportunities for the organization to participate in or host influential sector discussions, panels, and conferences.
➠ Engage with the Local Partnerships Specialist to implement the Localization Roadmap, strengthening local partner capacity.
➠ Integrate cross-cutting themes (HDP nexus approach, gender-lens, conflict sensitivity, safeguarding) to ensure programs are inclusive and context-sensitive.
Monitoring, Resource Stewardship, and Adaptation
➠ Collect, review, and analyze communications metrics and qualitative feedback to inform continuous improvement.
➠ Enforce accountability by ensuring efficient resource utilization, adherence to internal controls, and achieving satisfactory financial and operational audit results
. ➠ Contribute to resource acquisition efforts by engaging in external stakeholder relations and supporting proposal preparation.
