USAFI Volunteer Opportunity – Social Media & Communications Unit
United States and Africa Initiatives (USAFI) has announced a call for volunteers to join its newly established Social Media and Communications Unit as part of the organization’s 2026–2030 Strategic Roadmap. The initiative is intended to strengthen digital outreach, public engagement, and communication efforts connecting African institutions, youth, and diaspora communities.
The volunteer program offers participants the opportunity to contribute to communications and storytelling activities within a collaborative and remote working environment.
Available Volunteer Roles
USAFI is recruiting volunteers in the following areas:
👉 Social Media Management
👉 Graphic Design and Visual Content Creation
👉 Content Writing and Storytelling
👉 Communications and Public Engagement
Role Overview
Selected volunteers will support USAFI’s communication and outreach activities through content creation, digital engagement, visual storytelling, and online community interaction. Volunteers will work collaboratively with other team members to strengthen the organization’s digital presence and communication strategy.
The opportunity is designed for individuals interested in gaining practical exposure in communications, media engagement, and international development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
👉 Develop and manage content for social media platforms.
👉 Create visual materials aligned with organizational branding guidelines.
👉 Support storytelling and documentation of USAFI programs and activities.
👉 Assist with digital outreach and public engagement initiatives.
👉 Maintain consistency in messaging across communication channels.

Eligibility Requirements

👉 Demonstrated skills or strong interest in social media, communications, graphic design, or content development.
👉 Basic knowledge of digital tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, and social media platforms.
👉 Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
